What happens when a feather and a bowling ball undergoes free fall? Observe this video where a giant vacuum chamber is created, A feather and a bowling ball of differing weights is allowed to fall freely in vacuum and in normal condition.

Conclusion:

A feather and a bowling ball will fall at the same time in vacuum. Both of them will only be influenced by gravitational pull towards the earth. Air friction is pratically zero in this chamber. The feather does not move att all. This is what exactly happens in space when an astronaut is seen walking about the space station or coming out to do some work.

The space ship is relatively stationary with respect to the astronaut. But both are under going free fall towards earth. Since both of them have the same horizontalvelocity/angular velocity, they are relatively stationary.
